A couple of years ago at Quiksoft we began development on the next version SMTP Express Pro. We got a bit carried away, and somewhere along the process, we decided not to hold anything back. Two years of development later, we crawled out from our cubicles, rubbed our bleary eyes and realized that we had created something very special.
This new SMTP MTA was capable of radical new levels of performance and deliverability. It allowed almost transparent integration into existing enterprise class data systems. And since it was developed in .Net, we could aggressively add new and powerful features in very little time.
The first, most obvious thing that we realized, was that this was not an upgrade to SMTP Express Pro. It was an entirely new product all together. So the MTA was renamed to Hurricane Server.
But this was not just another new product either. It was a very special product that deserved its own service oriented business model. It also targeted a narrow slice at the high end of our existing market. It became obvious that in order to do justice to Hurricane Server, we needed to create an entirely new company dedicated to it alone.
We are proud to announce our new company, SocketLabs, Inc. In the next few weeks we will be launching www.socketlabs.com. Until then, please direct all of your Hurricane Server questions to sales@socketlabs.com.
