Increase Email Deliverability
Hurricane Server has many controls and built in processes to maximize your deliverability. Automatic
domain level delivery rules, support for authentication standards such as DomainKey/DKIM and Sender Id/SPF,
and automatic greylisting optimization are just some of the ways Hurricane Server increases your
deliverability. Various system reports enable you to monitor the status of your mailings and
quickly pinpoint specific deliverability problems which you can then remedy.
Authenticate using DomainKeys/DKIM or Sender Id/SPF
Authentication is one of the first steps you should take to increase your deliverability
and prevent fraudulent use of your domain names. Hurricane Server provides integrated support for DomainKeys and DKIM. Our DomainKey/DKIM wizzard
takes the guesswork out of generating keys and gives you clear instructions on how to setup
both your DNS and Hurricane Server to get DomainKeys and/or DKIM working right away. Additionally,
Hurricane Server is 100% compatible with Sender ID and SPF.
Automate Bounce Management
Hurricane Server's automatic bounce handling uses VERP (Variable Envelope Return Path) to encode the return path of outbound
messages. This ensures that bounces automatically flow directly back to Hurricane Server. Our encoding
process embeds message identifiers into the return path so that any message id or mailing/campaign id
you have tagged the message with, remains with the message even through a bounce. When Hurricane Server
receives a bounced message it is immediately analyzed, and the results can be studied in the
Hurricane Server reports and logs. Last but certainly not least, the bounced message, results of the
analysis, and custom identifiers are passed to the back end event driven API which you can easily intercept
with your own .Net code and update your own databases in real time.
Monitor Delivery Status
The web based management console gives you real time, detailed access to delivery statistics
from any computer. The system overview dashboard provides a quick overview
of the last 24 hours and the queue detail dashboard enables you to drill down into your queue
and get delivery stats on any account, domain or message in queue. Zooming in to the message level
gives you an instant view of the log items associated with that message making it easy to
trace every action Hurricane Server has taken on any message.
Several built in reports provide easy to understand charts and graphs which enable you to monitor
your inbound messages, outbound messages, failures and bounces.
Using the event driven, plugin API you can even hook your own .Net code into the process so that you can
keep your own databases updated with delivery statistics.
Track Opened Mail and Click-throughs
Hurricane Server enables you to track the number of people who have opened your messages or
clicked through links in your messages. In the past email systems and web severs had to be
carefully orchestrated to accomplish this. Hurricane Server takes the pain out of tracking opens and clicks
by fully automating the process for you and providing a dedicated, built in web server to
monitor open and click events on messages delivered by Hurricane Server.
Send Over 1 Million Messages Per Hour
Hurricane Server was designed for speed and can continuously handle simultaneous input and output of over
one million messages per hour. Hurricane Server's proprietary storage and indexing
system uses a mixture of disk and memory based storage. Despite its incredible speed Hurricane Server
shadows any in memory storage to disk and is therefore non volatile.
Integrate with Your Development Projects
Hurricane Server's front-end web service API enables your applications to query, control and configure
the server. The back-end event driven API enables you to handle server side events with .Net code
just as easily as handling an OnClick() or PageLoad() event. Receive event notifications of
just about every server event such as a failed delivery, a successful delivery, the analysis of
a received bounce, etc... The Hurricane Server APIs enable you to control the entire delivery
process right from within your own applications.
Keep an Audit Trail / Archive of All Email
Regulatory compliance and SLAs have made auditing and archival a must for many organizations.
Hurricane Server's extensive logging automatically keeps an audit trail of all processing even
down to the protocol level. System assigned unique message ids make it easy to track the history
of a message. Custom assigned message and/or mailing ids also appear in the logs.
Advanced logging options even enable you to store an encoded copy of the entire message
as a log column making it easy and automatic to archive every message processed right alongside its
log entries.
Update Your Own DB with Delivery Status, in Real Time
Combing through log files for delivery status information is cumbersome and inefficient. Hurricane Server's
even driven plugin API enables you to hook your own .Net code into the Hurricane Server process. Events
handled by your code will be fired in real time and passed all the relevant parameters, enabling you to
update your own databases with the delivery status of every message or campaign, as it happens. Place your
own message
and mailing/campaign identifiers in the headers of messages you inject into Hurricane Server and these
identifiers will be passed back to you in the relevant events making it easy to match up the messages involved
in these events with the
correct rows in your own tables.
Isolate Mailings onto Their Own IP Address
Hurricane Server enables you to separate your mail into accounts. Each account is like a Virtual MTA with isolated
processing, reporting and configuration. One of the many configuration options for an account is the IP address or addresses
that will send mail for that account. Isolating a mailing to its own IP address helps to prevent complaints
from that mailing from affecting your other mailings on different IP addresses.
Track Mailings for Customer Accounts
If you are an Email Service Provider and are sending mail for different customers, you will love
Hurricane Server's support for multiple accounts. Each account is like a Virtual MTA with isolated
processing, reporting and configuration. By giving each of your customers their own Hurricane Server
account you can provide them with their own queue, isolated processing, IP addresses, DomainKeys and
statistics.
