Mailbox providers use various means to tie your domain and IP to a reputation as a way to better regulate the quality of mail going through their platforms to end users. There is no single central DNS location for DKIM public key records as their location in DNS is determined by a selector variable.

What is DKIM Alignment

Simply put, DKIM alignment happens when the domain of the DKIM signature matches the domain in the from address. So if an email service like SocketLabs signs all of their messages with a DKIM signature, alignment does not happen until the brand sending the messages signs them with their own domain.
