Director of SEO

Overview

SocketLabs seeks a full-time Director of SEO to own planning, execution, and measurement of our organic growth strategy to help us grow leads and revenue. This key role will work within the revenue marketing team, working closely with cross-functional team members in a remote environment to build, optimize, and scale our SEO strategy. This is a great opportunity for a hungry player/coach who wants to experience rapid growth by taking an already functioning organic growth engine to the next level.

Core Responsibilities 

  • Develop and execute on the organic growth vision, strategy, and reporting cadence for our website.
  • Establish our SEO strategy that will bring new visitors for self-serve and enterprise products to grow leads and revenue.
  • Own overall organic website strategy of SocketLabs’ web properties. This includes conducting routine technical SEO audits, increasing page speed and overall site health, managing on-site SEO to improve rankings and conversions, developing internal link building strategy, and optimizing top content to improve rankings and conversions.
  • Work with key stakeholders across marketing, product, and customer service teams to build SEO content strategy and contribute to the content creation process as needed.
  • Coach team members on SEO best practices and establish a repeatable process and framework for other team members to follow when creating new content for our website and blog.
  • Manage off-site SEO and work with agency partners to execute on SocketLabs’ outbound link building strategy.
  • Develop SEO strategy around new product offerings and new features as needed.
  • Work within SEMrush, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and Sisense to monitor performance and drive revenue.
  • Keep a pulse on the markets we serve – this includes user personas, segmentation, competitor sizing, and other things happening in the email industry.

Required Experience 

  • 5+ years of marketing experience with a focus on SEO. This includes previous experience building and scaling an SEO strategy from the ground up, ideally for a SaaS company.
  • Experience with Onsite SEO, Offsite SEO, SEO Strategy, and Conversion Optimization.
  • Experience using SEO and Analytics tools such as SEMrush, Google Search Console, and Google Analytics.
  • WordPress and Google Tag Manager experience is required.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fully remote working environment. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate project needs and translate business requirements to other stakeholders.

Experience with the following would be a plus, though it is not required: 

  • Hubspot
  • BI & Product Analytics Tools (we use Sisense and Mixpanel)
  • Experience using SEO and Analytics tools such as SEMrush, Google Search Console, and Google Analytics.
  • Previous experience working with the developer and IT audience is a plus, but not required
  • Solid technical skills. Knowledge of SMTP, DNS, and email deliverability is a huge plus
  • Previous SaaS experience ideally within the email industry is a plus, but not required
