The All-New SocketLabs On-Demand Control Panel

SocketLabs is excited to announce that today we will be releasing a major update to the SocketLabs On-Demand Control Panel. We have completely rewritten the all-new SocketLabs On-Demand Control Panel from scratch and we have included some great new features.  While maintaining a similar look and feel, we have drastically improved the Control Panel’s performance.

Below is an overview of some of the new features we’ve included in today’s update.

The most noticable impact of today’s SocketLabs On-Demand Control Panel update will be the much improved overall appearance.  We’ve used the latest technologies to simplify the interface, and make the Control Panel easier to use.  Check out this screenshot of what the new Dashboard looks like:

Among the most requested user features is the ability to better manage outbound messages in queue, so we have included a new feature that will allow users to purge messages in queue awaiting delivery.  If you have accidentally injected outbound messages that you don’t want to go out, you can quickly and easily clear them from the queue.  We will still keep a statistical record of these messages in your Failed Messages Report, so you can know exactly which outbound messages have been cleared out.  For more information on exactly how this feature works, we have posted a knowledge base article available here on our support page.

We know the most utilized pages of the SocketLabs On-Demand Control Panel are the Reporting Pages, so improving and adding features to these pages was a priority for us when rebuilding them from the ground up.  Here are the additions we are most excited about:

1) You can now go “Full Screen” and view more data than ever on our updated Reporting Pages.  You will see a new icon in the upper-right hand corner of all the reporting page grids that will allow you to expand the data grid to fill the entire browser window.  This makes viewing all the data generated from your email much easier to read and analyze.

2) With just a few clicks, you can add and remove data columns within the reporting page grids.  If you don’t use our MailingID and MessageID values, then you can remove them from your grid to give more screen real estate to the other data columns when reading the reports. Under the drop down menu of each column you will find a new menu to check and un-check the available columns.

3) Improved paging options allow you to find the specific data you are looking for more efficiently.  We’ve added new paging options that will allow you to get the page of data that you were looking for by specifying the exact page number and pressing enter.

4) Our customers come from all over the world, so we have many clients that collaborate with others across many different time zones. To help make it easier for users to view data across different time zones, you can now adjust reporting data to your local time or a specific alternate time zone. In the lower right-hand corner of all the reporting pages is a link to our User Preferences page that allows you to set a specific time zone to be utilized across all reporting pages. By default, we currently detect and adjust this based on the current time zone of the computer being used.

When redesigning our Control Panel from scratch, we took our time to ensure the security of our systems and the critical data our customers trust us to protect.  We know that security is a priority for many users. Enforcing and establishing security protocols is critical to keeping data safe.  We want to make it easier to manage your critical passwords, so we’ve enabled the ability for users to generate a new SMTP password.

Now available is a refresh button next to the SMTP password in the SocketLabs On-Demand Control Panel. This allows you to auto-generate a new password of between 12-20 random alphanumeric characters. Users will have to re-enter their password to confirm this change both as an added security measure and to protect against accidental changes. Above is a glimpse of how it looks in the Control Panel.

The last feature we want to highlight in our new SocketLabs On-Demand Control Panel is a significantly improved management of email alerts and notifications.  Now each and every user can manage what type of alerts they receive about their account.  Choose to receive only billing alerts or only critical system notices, depending on your role and interaction with our services.  To manage this setting simply click your Name in the upper right-hand corner of any page in the SocketLabs On-Demand Control Panel and then click Preferences.

We hope our you are as thrilled as we are about all these new features and the entirely rebuilt system.  We here at SocketLabs are excited to continue to improve the SocketLabs On-Demand Control Panel and can’t wait to add amazing new features.  If you have any questions about the new updates don’t hesitate to contact our support department by emailing [email protected].

Thank you,

The SocketLabs Team
